Where it hides

Cloud costs grow by default. Every service adds resources, every instance is sized for its busiest day, and the defaults favour the meter.

Over-provisioned compute

EC2, RDS and Kubernetes nodes sized for a launch-day peak. Rightsized on 30 days of p95 utilization, one resource group at a time, with a rollback.

Idle and orphaned resources

Unattached EBS volumes, stale snapshots, forgotten NAT gateways, load balancers with no targets, and staging environments running all weekend.

Commitments that no longer fit

Savings Plans and reserved capacity bought for what you planned to run. Re-matched to the measured floor, never to the peak.

Storage on the wrong tier

S3 without lifecycle rules, gp2 volumes that should be gp3, snapshots kept forever, and logs in hot storage nobody reads.

Data transfer and NAT

Cross-AZ chatter, NAT gateway processing, and egress that a VPC endpoint or a placement change would remove.

Kubernetes waste

Requests set far above usage, node groups that never scale down, and clusters duplicated per environment down to the instance type.

What does an AWS cost optimization audit involve?

A read-only IAM role, seven days, and a line-by-line report: what to cut, what it saves, what it risks and how it would be rolled back. It is free and the report is yours whether or not we go further.

How much can we expect to save?

Up to 40% in production accounts we have run, with most of it in compute rightsizing, schedules and commitments. The calculator above gives a range; the audit gives your number.

Is this an AWS cost management tool or a service?

A service run by agents and engineers. Finly does the analysis and prepares the changes, a senior engineer approves each one, and the changes land as pull requests where Terraform owns the resource.

Do you handle EC2 cost optimization specifically?

Yes. Instance family and size changes, autoscaling bounds, schedules for non-production, Spot where the workload allows it, and commitments once the floor is known.

What about Kubernetes cost optimization?

Requests and limits corrected from real usage, node groups sized and scaled, and cluster autoscaling tuned, on EKS or self-managed clusters.

Does it work on Azure or GCP?
